Nominations Now Closed for the 2016 Nurse of the Year Award.
Is there a nurse who has given you the gift of medical care, physical comfort, and emotional support? One who has made life for you and your family a little easier?
Why not nominate this outstanding hematology-oncology nurse for the Leukemia Research Foundation Nurse of the Year Award? The award recipient will receive a nursing education grant as well as funding for a gift or program for his or her unit!
Since 1996, the LRF has annually recognized a nurse who gives his or her time, compassion, and heart each and every day to those touched by leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, or other blood cancer. The important contributions made by hematology-oncology nurses cannot be overlooked. In many ways, these nurses are the guardian angels of comfort on a difficult journey.
Nominations for Nurse of the Year are accepted from patients, caregivers, parents of patients, children of patients, spouses / partners, and coworkers, as long as the following criteria are met:
Candidates must hold an RN or an LPN certification and serve patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, or other blood cancers.
Candidates must work anywhere in the state of Illinois or within 100 miles of Chicago.
Nominations must be submitted on the official LRF Nurse of the Year Nomination Form
The completed nomination form must be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to:
