Jade Williams and her life globes

Blood Cancer Patient Fighting for Kids

Jade Williams of Tacoma, Washington is a chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patient, diagnosed in 2016, who is using her hobby to support the Leukemia Research Foundation. Jade makes one-of-a-kind, decorative “life globes” by hand. She found the LRF while looking for CLL information and wanted to help. Jade has a soft spot for children and even though she's battling a blood cancer, she decided to use her hobby to raise money for research and to help save kids diagnosed with one of these terrible diseases.

“I started making the life globes to take my mind off of my CLL treatment. Now I do it to hopefully save the lives of children touched by blood cancers.”

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale her life globes was donated to the LRF during fall of 2018, generating more than $1,000.

“I know that people need help. I know that we need research to find a cure for these diseases. I’m so blessed to be able to help in this way.”

The LRF sincerely thanks Jade and everyone who is dedicated to the fight against blood cancers. Your generosity helped the LRF to fund 12 blood cancer research projects, support an exciting CAR T-Cell Therapy clinical trial, and provide patient education and support to thousands of people and families impacted by a blood cancer diagnosis.

If you would like to take a closer look at Jade's art, click here to email Jade. If you would like to do something similar to Jade’s fundraising, click here to get started!
