Leukemia Research Foundation Earns Top National Rating for Second Time

The Leukemia Research Foundation proudly announces it has once again earned the coveted “Four Star Charity” rating from Charity Navigator, the highest possible rating from America’s largest national independent charity evaluator. The Leukemia Research Foundation had also achieved the top rating in November, 2015. Visit www.charitynavigator.org and search “Leukemia Research Foundation” for the full report.

The Four Star Rating is Charity Navigator’s preeminent award for sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency and describes the charity as “exceptional…...exceeding industry standards and outperforming most charities in its cause.”

Specifically, among the thousands of nonprofit, charitable organizations nationwide evaluated by Charity Navigator only a quarter of those earn the significant Four Star Rating. In addition, the Leukemia Research Foundation is one of only 16 Illinois-based nonprofits within the Health category to earn the high rating.

"The Leukemia Research Foundation's notable Four Star Rating puts it in a very select group of high-performing charities," according to Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator, based in Glen Rock, NJ. "Earning a Four Star Rating demands rigor, responsibility and commitment to openness. Donors and supporters should feel extremely confident that their hard-earned dollars are being used efficiently and responsibly to fulfill the mission of the Leukemia Research Foundation."

Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator, highlights the fine work of efficient, ethical
and open charities. Their goal is to provide donors with essential information to give them greater
confidence in the charitable choices they make.

“It’s important for our donors to trust that the support they provide is being wisely utilized to
accomplish our mission of funding worldwide medical research in pursuit of a cure for all blood
cancers while providing patient support and need-based financial assistance,” said Leukemia Research Foundation Executive Director Kevin Radelet. “Our Four Star Charity Navigator Rating demonstrates to our supporters that we take our fiduciary and governance responsibilities very seriously.”
